I use R222 pre wax cleanser and concours look carnuba wax and think it is fantastic.Very easy to use as it doesn't set hard and chalk and gives one of the best wet look shines possible.Under £30 a pot and doesn't smell of much at all.
I also use this, combination, but when it runs out I think I will try one of the Auto Finesse waxes, as all their other products that I use are great, they are British too.

P21S wax, I think it might have been rebranded as R222 now, a white/clear carnauba wax that gives a really deep shine imhe, reasonably priced if I recall too.
If it smells anything like their wheel cleaner I'm oot!

I use R222 and really like it's ease of use and it's well behaved. Take it off staright away or leave it for an hour with no problem, so long as not in the sun.
I don;t find it very long lasting though and need several applications through the summer. Any recommendations for something to go on top to improve 'wetness' and durability?

I use Black Hole too, but I'm not entirely convinced it does much that SRP doesn't.

That is true,it doesn't last very long.I enjoy cleaning my car though and tend to top up the wax at least once a month. If you keep on top of it and with R222 being so easy to apply and buff I can do the whole car in around 40 mins.

I also find that it doesn't last too long, but don't find it to be a major problem, I use Clearkote Quickshine as a quick detail spray over the top, but a carnuba based QD spray would probably be just as good.

Have got quite a nice mix of products on the shelf but need a wax.

Car is a Tuscan, colour is metallic blue (Viper GTS Blue).

Quite fancy some Dodo Juice because a) it's British and b) I'm drawn in by the marketing hype and feel that buying there products will make me a hip surfer type.

Suggestions?

Any purple haze users out there? hippy

Id consider one of the new nano products. Im using Cquartz. Its has mild scratch filling properties and will produce a very hard glossy layer which will be mar resistant. It will help resist swirls in future when washing the car. It should last about 2 years between applications.

The other benefit is that coatings like cquartz etc are essentially clear so you lose none of the clarity of the mettalic. Most waxes end up dulling down mettalics.

Ive tried a lot of waxes before from Autoglym HD, collinite etc and this so far has produced one of the glossiest finishes without dampening down the mettalic effect.

Im applying to my Tuscan now. Once Im done I'll try and post some pics.

Just started using Finish Kare 1000p, here's a quick pic after I recently detailed my car
I have to say that it is just awesome, great depth, super shine and super slick.

Cheers guys thumbup, so many good products about by the looks of things.

I'm going to give the Purple Haze a go and order some Lime Prime to go with it.

Weather permitting, next weekend I'll break out the clay then see what's what.

I'm really tempted to try some desire. A lot of detailers recommend it too.

Thanks to this thread I tried Dodo Juice - Orange Crush; admittedly two applications but it's superb. That was six weeks ago and it's still very glossy and beading well.

I use Dodo juice purple haze. Used it on my reflex purple tuscan, but also use it on my mid blue (Stratos blue) Alpine, dark blue Outback and Dark Grey Audi. It works a treat on them all smile

Across the small pond to NI KleenFreaks are pretty big on the VAG scene and growing in others. Do an awesome wax and works very well on performance blue smile

Good protection also, this is from just a wash after a 4 week battering of january this year.

You have to understand that wax and polish do two entirely different jobs, polish makes the car shine whilst wax protects your shine. SRP is not too bad as a polish and with care can produce a good shine, then something like Black Hole, Rainforest Rub or Bouncer's Sherbert Fizz protects it and gives the beading when it rains. For myself i use Megs polish to make the Skoda shine and Bouncer's Moonshine to protect it, the wax has lasted a bout 4 months and is now starting to show signs of needing topping up for winter.
