Oxidised clear coat

Just joined the forum today. I have an 02 Clio in Capsicum red which now looks almost pink. It appeared that the paint has faded underneath the clear coat so after many failed attempts at polishing by hand I left it as I assumed nothing could be done.

Recently a few chunks of clear coat have peeled off exposing the paint underneath which looks perfect and it appears that the clear coat is actually making the paint look faded.

Anyone seen this before or have any tips.

Nothing you can do, its the paint pigment below the clear that has faded due to the UV. Lacquer peel is probably poor repair work in the past coming to light, although its common on plastic parts after 10-15 years.
