Hi

I recently moved into rented shared accommodation which is undergoing significant construction work.

Last Friday evening I went to my car which is parked in our driveway behind the property and discovered that it'd been covered in a building material. Here's some pictures:

I realised that this material had been sprayed all over the house. I am not sure what the material is but it looks like it was sprayed onto the bricks of the house and is designed to stick to the bricks as it is. When the wind blows the in could see the material come off the house and sweep over and through the driveway.

I've given it a clean and have taken a couple pictures post-wash:

As can be seen it's still marked from the material. By Monday evening the car was totally covered again. I washed it again and once more it got covered. I've washed again and understand that the spraying of the house has now stopped.

I'm posting this because I am concerned that this material is causing/has caused damage to the paintwork and/or body of the car.

Can anyone confirm if so, and what I should do to rectify it? I have little knowledge when it comes to this area.

I'm currently trying to get the name of the construction company from the letting agents and should be getting that info on Monday.

Thanks in advance

Find out the name of the product the builders have used, contact the manufacturer to determine the best way to remove the contamination from your paintwork.
In the meantime, try gently rubbing some vinegar over the paint in a concealed area to see if that has any effect.
