Ok, first visit here so apologies if this has been asked before, but a 2 part question...

I've (VERY) vaguely been thinking of importing a classic Mustang (for several years...) now, some look good, some look ropey, but none are particularly in the colour I'd fancy. So, firstly, how much is a GOOD paint job going to set me back, and secondly, whilst its stripped down, is there some kind of rust proofing that can/should be done? I'm painfully aware that most surviving american cars would be coming from Texas with little to no rust protection...

Just trying to cost out various things, though strangely at the moment it looks cheaper to buy a finished car here, which I'm finding odd...

A respray and colour change of all visible surfaces ought to cost well over 3k. A proper job should include primers and underseals and seam sealant as appropriate, which would be better in terms of corrosion protection than OEM.
