I've bought some Chipex so that I can have a go and amending the damaged door below, I've read a few things (good and bad) on Chipex results so would just like some tips from anyone who has used it before.

I'm guessing I will have to build up the different layers, first? Then use the blending solution, I know it won't be perfect but as long as I get a reasonably good result I'll be happy!

Thanks!

I've been lucky enough so far to have only needed to use mine on small chips. But for a large repair like that you'll need to follow pretty similar steps.

Clean up the area with some 2000-3000 grit wet and dry. Making a circle of the paper cut using a hole punch, then stuck on the end of a pencil with an eraser is a good way of doing this.

Then start building layers of paint until it's slightly above the level of the surrounding paint. Let it dry then use the blending cloth and solution placed on the little foam block to level it off. Follow up after totally dry with polish and sealant/wax.
