I was told by my friend from Autosmart that if you look after it (keep it moist in an airtight bag) it will last for 20 plus applications. I've used mine twice and it shows no signs of degradation at all.

Good advice they come with a sealable bag, however mines currently air drying on a rack so that's going straight back in the bag when I get home!

Spring's almost here so about to stock up on cleaning goodies. Any comments on this cheaper alternative: AllShine Clay Mitt?
Is it genuinely 'you get what you pay for' or am I paying for a 'brand' with the Farecla?

Be carful with that one. You'll note it's a "mini" so smaller than a normal one. I bought one and fell for that trap. The clay on it isn't too sticky either so doesn't really catch much stuff when pulling along the paintwork.

This is really interesting.

With a clay bar you keep folding it over to pull the contaminants into the clay and expose a fresh surface.

How does this work with a mitt - doesn’t it just keep smearing the contaminants over the car increasing the risk of swirls?
