With significant 'browsing' of the web to expand my horizons on fettling your car , I thought I would take the leap of faith and get some engine bits repainted/'fettled' with some crackle red paint (you might guess I quietly hanker after either a Ferrari or Maser though SWMBO isn't happy at the future thought of a Maser!)& I did the easy bit of using a dremel on the script and lacquering biggrin

That looks good!

I was expecting something along the lines of electrics playing up after jet washing the engine bay.

Let's have a shot of the whole engine bay then! Looks good so far.

Craikeybaby - I know better than to give a proper 'wash' to an Italian engine (especially when all the plastic electrical covers etc. are 15 yrs old)!

JFReturns - pics will follow tomorrow hopefully to show when its all back together & that I need to spend some £s on a new header tank (which apparently you can't get new OEM anymore - grrrr!)

As requested! I've also noticed a new oil filler cap will be on the pocket money wish list for 2015. The hose clips were a mare as well - god bless Italian engineering/design wink

Did you use the correct tool ?

I did a plug change on my 3L GTV once. Once was enough smile

I want to do this on my gt v6, how hard was it considering I'm not the best with the spanners. ....

Warnie, I'm not the best at such jobs (SWMBO would confirm) & I also had the car in pieces for about 3 weeks whilst I awaited my friends shot blasting/painting. I was pretty methodical & also had a reasonable set of tools & also bought the specialist hose clip pliers off Fleabay. The biggest challenge was the inlet pipe gaskets & the lack of room to do certain jobs which is a common issue with the GTV V6. Have a go, it's massively satisfying once done, all back together & running properly.
