How Can I Fix This Paintwork Issue?

Hi everyone at the forum!

This is my first ever post here.

My friend drives a MK4 Golf. It's got this paintwork problem which he asked me about that what could it be. I'm fairly handy with fixing things but even I'm totally clueless as to what might have caused this and how to DIY fix it.

Does anyone have an idea what it could be and what to do in case of the peeling paintwork?

The clear coat is pealing off, looks like a respray.

Yup bosyshop only for a re spray im afraid.

It's had a cheap re-spray, which was badly prepped.
But it probably looked ok for at least the first 6 weeks (from 50 meters, whilst looking into the sun and squinting)

Only solution is take it to a proper sprayshop where it will all have to be removed and then prepped and re-sprayed properly.

That look comes as standard on a lot of French stuff,
Gallon of petrol and a match is the cheapest fix.
