DIY Refurb Alloys
Discussion
Hey Fellas,
I got my alloys refurbished a couple years ago and got them painted black - it looked dapper!
However, after a couple years and some high lying curves - they have gutter rash and look a bit tat. White car, black rims with grazes annoy me!
Anyway - instead of plumping another 250 quid on getting them professionally done I wanted to have a go myself.
The wheels are off the car as I've got some winter tyres on it.
I wanted to know the process - so like what sandpaper to use, I've seen people using hard grit to fine grit (80-500) and then using body filler and hardener to fill in the damage. I was going to use spray cans as the damage isn't too big. Should I prime and how long should I let it dry for?
Watched the Mighty Car Mods video - so I'm inspired.
I'm an amateur - but want to have a go. If it goes tits up I'll be to blame.
Any advice would be appreciated.
