Newly sprayed bright red van - wax or polish?
Discussion
Want to protect the new paint on my VR6 VW Caddy van, which is fresh back from a full respray a couple of weeks ago.
Not trying to fully detail it or anything just have a good layer of protection on the paint.
Should i be :-
Clay bar, then a good wax
Clay bar, polish, then a good wax
OR, what do you recommend?
Thanks in advance

Can you feel any contaminants in the paint? I wouldn't have thought there'd be a need to clay after just two weeks, and there's always the risk of marring the paint if you don't use enough lube or rub too hard.
As for polish of the filler type (SRP, etc) it'd probably be worth it. How's the finish from the bodyshop after wiping down with a paint cleanser to remove any oils left over from buffing? Chances are the finish won't be quite as perfect as it could be in which case the polish will have some benefit.
Perhaps try a section with polish + wax, and another with just a paint cleanser and wax. Can you see any difference? If not then just cleanse and wax.
