My mother in law (who lives in the US) has asked me how to get hard water marks off her Challenger. I believe the issue is she is washing it then the droplets are drying and leaving the 'teardrop' marks. She said no even glass cleaner is removing them from the windows.

So, what can I advise? I have already told her to wash the car next time out of the sunlight and then chamois it off.

Are they a permanent fixture or are they removed by washing?

If its just a washing / drying issue use finish kare 425 as a drying aid (by the gallon its really good value) just spray on and wipe off with a microfiber.

If its permanent it may need some light polishing followed by good washing / drying practice.

A good wash followed by detailing clay will remove the mineral deposits. If there is any etching on the bodywork this will need further attention in the form of cutting and polishing.

Nanolex Final Finish every time for this sort of thing. Even works on dark colours at really high temperatures. Brilliant stuff.

Sounds like she lets it air dry rather than using a chamois to dry it. Bucket of warm water with a bit of vinegar in it (vinegar dissolves calcium) and a chamois to dry and she should be fine.
