Can anyone recommend someone in the south who can deal with faded red paint please?

Probably needs a M.O.P. for my 1997 MR2. Mainly the bonnet.

Any advice/experiences welcome.

Thanks.

Wash, clay bar, meguiars #7 (the above), then meguiars gold class wax made this transformation...

It won't last forever, but it's cheaper than a respray!

A decent wash a clay....then you need to use some polish, if no machine is handy, one area a time. Polish is slightly abrasive but will help and then a glaze.....purely for appearance and the two coats of wax....applied hours apart. You will now have a decent looking red car. Need some help with product ideas?

It did a good job on the fence and the block paving, they're 6 shades lighter too.

Mine was pink, is now red. Recommended.

The faded paint is basically a layer of dead paint mainly caused by UV degradation.

Using a pure glaze like #7 is a relatively short term solution in comparison to a machine polish to remove the dead paint layer followed by application of a long term protective coating along the lines of Gtechniq or Cquartz to effectively lock down the new glossy red finish.

cheers

Chris at Summit Detailing's advice is spot on. Gtechniq and C quartz are excellent products but a total detox and paint correction will aid in prolonging the investment in time and money to get and keep the finish tip top. wink
