hi guys,

I took delivery of a new insignia back in december last year.

i have clocked 11k miles since delivery and the interior still stinks of plastic.

I have the elite spec (full leather), and it's really getting to me and my wife now, so I was wondering if any of you guys can recommend something i can purchase to rid the smell?

tbh, i would rather resolve this issue without the use of a perfumed/fragrance substance, as I never use air fresheners, and prefer an odourless cabin.

thank you,
ed

heat and bicarbonate of soda. when the plastic's new the chemical vapours will naturally escape for some time post manufacture, running the car with heater on full blast with windows open helps to cure the plastic. also, and this is great for all car odours... bicarbonate of soda, place dry in 4-5 small bowls around the car and leave overnight. keep doing this for a few weeks and the bicarb' will absorb the odour vapours present. both techniques work without the need to mask odours in the way "air freshners" do...
