Lacquer peel

I've just bought a new daily and it has a small area (5p coin sized) of lacquer peel on the front bumper. I suspect the bumper has been resprayed at some point, as there aren't enough stone chips for a 60k mile car.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it getting worse short term? The medium term plan is to get the bumper resprayed in the spring, but I'd like to stop it getting worse before then.

Left the lacquer will spread as the dampness gets in how about clear nail varnish on the edges until you get it fixed.
