OK silly question time (it's friday afternoon after all!)

I am replacing all my suspension arms and coilovers on my RX7. Whilst I am under there I thought I would clean up any rust spots and repaint the subframe and arches.

The confusion I have is I am unsure if the arches have underseal or just textured paint. Will I have to remove all this in order to paint?

The car was resprayed before I purchased it and there appears to be a lot of red overspray so I wasn't sure if the red is over spray or in fact paint showing through any underseal.

Looks like overspray to me, scrape a little off, you'll soon be able to tell.

If it was me I'd just use some Bilt Hamber on it, UB just brushes on. They also do Hydrate 80, it's a converter for surface rust. It primes the surface and you can paint over, useful for wheel archs.

Good plan

I have some bilt hamber for the surface rust and plan on running some seam sealer on there too before giving it a fresh coat of paint.

Looks like after the car was painted they sprayed black shultz to cover up (most) of the overspray in the arches and underside, including the exhaust heat shield.
