So, I bought a car (trade) at the end of March and for the princely sum of £650 I could have GardX applied inside and outside, lifetime guarantee of the product's performance, increase the asset value of the car, a Customer Take Home Pack with Safety Pack, protects against bird droppings, tree sap, environmental fall out........blah, blah watch the video with Mike Brewster doing his 'dog and pony show' small swab of material gets a coloured liquid poured over it etc.

End up paying £150 for it, seemed ok for that price (Take Home Packs are £40 -60ish eBay) I needed something as the car does the family stuff and chauffeurs the dog, so protected inside is a must. I pick the car up and the product has been applied well. I'm no detailer just your typical car nut with mild OCD.

Yesterday a bird cacked on the paintwork, I get if off carefully asap, probably about an hour, no more. Well 'f*ck a duck' the crap has gone through the GardX and under the top layer.

I phone GardX to say what can you do about it, lifetime guarantee etc and the technical chap says;
- Bird's poo gets more acidic in the summer, so that can't be helped
- GardX only guarantees the 'shine'
- A local smart repairer can get the defect out and it won't cost much

I'm not after sympathy only the hope that this post is found on a Google search and helps make someone's mind up.

Thanks, I have been given a full case of the product by a friend in the trade but haven't applied yet. I think I'll stick with traditional polish and extra gloss protection. Cleaning and polishing is, after all all part of the ownership deal for the garage toy.

What a con all this dealer paint protection is. And that's before they welch on their promises. Its supposed to protect against bird crap. It clearly didn't and IF bird crap is more acidic in summer, that's their issue, not yours surely.
But as they bought you off with more of their old jollop, that's probably the end of it.
