I recently used WD40 degreaser (yellow can) not the normal WD40. I used it because I hadn't planned ahead and bought something more exotic online and halfords carried it in stock. The reviews looked good so I bought a can and tried it. Worked really well. I masked any exposed electrical connections using sandwich bags and tape. Did a quick rinse off with a spray on end of hose (not pressure washer). Liberally sprayed at least half the can of WD40 over everything. Agitated as much of it as possible with a selection of long reach brushes. Left for 15-20 mins. Hosed off with spray head. covered all pastics in Aero 303 and left it to dry. Came up lovely.

Second that. Totally water soluble so rinses away a treat and you can dilute it if neat is too strong - in my experience it strips even heavy grease with minimal brush work.
