Possible used car purchase and lacquer peel

Time to change the family motor. Looked at a few and one that has caught my eye has lacquer peel around the badges on the tailgate. Car is 2010 model with approx 40k miles so I was quite surprised to see it tbh.

One to avoid?? Opinions on what could have caused it? Poor accident repair??



Badge on the other side is the same.

bad job , imagine someone has masked off the badges

makes you wonder where else it will happen , i prefer to buy cars with the original paint

Its not going to get any better. I'd keep looking.

As above on both counts, it will only get worse and you don't know how far it spreads up the panel.
