Flocked dash- Getting it Off!

Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a MK2 Golf in need of some TLC.

The previous owner decided to try and flock the dash themselves and it hasn't turned out great.

I'm not a fan and want to remove it, but how?

I've had a quick look online but couldn't find anything with guaranteed results.

Some suggestions have been:

-Nail varnish remover
-Sanding? Surely this will damage the dash underneath?
-Burn it...


Has anyone had a go at this before?

I don't fancy spending hours of effort trying to remove it if there is a simpler solution.
