Hi all,

I've just got my first car with diamond cut alloys (eugh) and have seen online that you need a pH neutral cleaner for them? My current (and good) wheel cleaner is around pH 14, so I'm guessing it's far too alkali for them?

Also looking at buying a foam lance soon. Can anybody point me towards snow foam that is diamond cut friendly?

Cheers.

Wheel cleaners are far more aggressive than snow foam, you shouldnt have to worry about sbpnow foam damaging your alloys. But don't use anything like the original wonder wheels wheel cleaner on them.. Most snow foams advertise themselves as ph neutral, just look for one of these.

Auto Finesse Revolution wheel soap is great.
It's well worth sealing them up or having them ceramic coated. It'll make cleaning very easy and prevent the finish becoming tarnished.

Any snow foam will be wheel safe. By the time they hit the paintwork, the ph levels are usually around neutral.

I'd not suggest snow foam for wheel cleaning, as most aren't well lubricated for actual washing duties let alone their cleaning power.

Much better a proper shampoo, Dooka Wheels is excellent.

cheers

After some research I picked up some Autoglym Custom Wheel cleaner for my diamond cut BBS's though I've haven't actually used it on them as I never let them get dirty enough to warrant using it.

To be honest OP, unless you're leaving your wheels for months without a wash you should be able to use a wash mitt and normal shampoo to clean them up. smile

I have an old microfibre mitt and if necessary a slightly stronger soap solution which cleans my wheels up nicely. Even if they've been left for a few weeks it will get them really clean.

What you may find helpful is applying a wheel sealant so that any dirt/brake dust on the wheels doesn't stick as easily so is easier to wash off. smile
