Recommendations please for a SnowFoam product? And also a De-taring product?

The car is used daily, about 20,000 miles a year so I don't want to spend a fortune on products that might be 1% better, but are a)more expensive and b) hard work (thinking the de taring here) as it gets pretty filthy, pretty quickly!

Currently use a lot of autoglym stuff and I'm happy with the results I get from it, but I've not used snowfoam or de taring stuff before.

For example, am I best of using clay? or a de taring spray of some kind?

Auto smart Tardis is widely recommended as the 'go-to' tar remover, simply spray on, wait 3-5 minutes and wipe off.

Follow that with Carpro Iron X, then Bily Hamber clay and you're onto a great base. I then use Dodo Supernatural Microprime Polish topped with Dodo Supernatural Hybrid (2 coats).

Windows is the same except I swap the Dodo Hybrid with Angelwax H2Go.

HTH.

ValetPro PH Neutral is also a good snow foam. Use it before the hand wash.

Autosmart Tardis for tar removal.

I'd swap the snowfoam for a decent pre soak product like Autosmart Hazsafe through a pump sprayer.

cheers

Thanks guys.

So after tar removal I should clay then Polish? I have SRP and a big tub of it so I'm hoping I don't need anything special?

As for not using snow foam... bit it looks like so much fun!

Get some fallout remover, I'd suggest Bilt Hamber Korrosol. This will do tar spots and lift all the other contamination out of the paint - use once or twice a year or so. You might need to clay afterwards, might not.

SRP is absolutely fine to use, if you use thin coats it'll minimise the dust.

As an LSP get some Bilt Hamber double speed wax, its £15 and is a very good wax that will help protect the finish (and your hard work polishing!), disperse water and so on.

Nothing wrong with using snowfoam, again Bilt Hamber stuff is well thought of. Alternatively you could try some Koch Chemie Green, have a read of this: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...
I've not used it yet, but that little review suggests its very effective.

I like Autofinesse stuff, so would reccomend their Avalanche foam. Their tar and iron remover products are good too, although I'm currently using the Geyeon ones, as that's all I could get hold of when I needed them - they are just as good.

I don't bother claying my daily, I just use an all in one cleaner/polish/wax.

I'll go for the AutoSmart Tardis for tar removal then as most of you went for that! Will get that in the next wave of purchasing.

I went for the Bilt Hamber Snow Foam as it was a fair whack cheaper, and seems to get good reviews all round.

Any thoughts of dilution in the resevior?

Do you rinse the car with water first? Then foam? Then rinse off?

Or foam? and rinse?
