Hi, I bought a replacement bootlid off ebay but unfortunately it wasn't wrapped very well and shipped via Yodal so it's arrived pretty damaged, is there any way of redeeming this?

Was thinking perhaps some heat and molegrips between a piece of silicone sheet slowly pushing it back?

Slightly OT but I contacted the seller last week and have had no response, they seem to be ignoring me, is it worth filing a claim with ebay/paypal? The p&p was £30 so it's not really cost effective for me to post it back as I'll still be £30 down for something that not even worth £50 frown

From what I hear of ebay lately the buyer has the upper hand so I'd fire off an email with pictures saying damaged in transit. You'll probably find you won't have to ship it back (at least at your cost).

I fix lots of damage like this to door edges and it is usually pretty straight forward. Shame it has fractured the clear coat, only way home from there unfortunately is to repaint, but to fix the 'bend'. Get a rubber mallet and a heat gun or at worst a hair drier.

Apply heat to the panel, be careful not to burn the paint. You aren't really heating the metal (though it will get hot), you want enough heat to give the paint a chance at not cracking any further. The panel will want to feel like it has been sitting in the summer sun for a few hrs to the touch. Using the rubber mallet work the panel a bit at a time (no brute force), re-heat work again and keep repeating until it is back where it should be. Once the panel is offered up and fitted you can fine tune the adjustment using the same method.
