Rust water marks on windscreen

On a Mercedes C class saloon 2016MY I have managed to get rusty water stains on the windscreen. This happened after parking under an old iron bridge on a rainy day. I have tried various windscreen cleaners to no effect. And the local hand car wash have been unable to remove the marks. Short of fitting a new windscreen does anyone have any ideas as to how I can remove the marks?

Try cleaning it with wire wool. There are several videos on YouTube on how to do it.

Will that not scratch the windscreen?

Not if you use the correct grade of wire wool and use it as the videos show.

Before using abrasives I'd try fallout remover like Bilt Hamber Korrosol. Spray on, it'll turn purple as it reacts with the metal. Easy to use, just don't let it dry on the car as it can stain.

Valet pro dragons breath fallout remover, if that doesn't shift it then fine wire wool and glass cleaner/cream
