*Incompetence Warning*


A bit of lacquer peeled off my door (pressure washer too close).

I used a touch up kit to seal it so it would stop peeling.

This is how it looks now


Will some 1500/2000 sandpaper followed by rubbing compound & polish make this a bit better (not looking for perfection)? It would all be done by hand.

Yes that is helpful, thanks. Exactly the kind of thing I was planning to do.

I've already got Meguiars Scratch-X so I'll try that after a bit of sanding thumbup

Update...

Step 1) Ruin paintwork


Step 2) Apply far too much lacquer from touch-up kit, really unevenly. DO NOT build it up in thin layers.


Step 3) Sand down with 1500 grit followed by 2000 grit wet sandpaper


Step 4) Meguiars Scratch-X



Far from perfect obviously, but a lot better than it was smile
