My car is going in for an engine out service.

The people doing it have agreed I can spend a day cleaning the engine bay and engine.

Anyone got any tips on products? I want to avoid using water if possible as I will obviously be inside their workshop.

So spray on wipe off type products. I can prob get a bucket of water and use a wet cloth to remove residue.

Then the engine itself, will be on an engine table including suspension and sub frame.

It will look like this

You could try a citrus based cleaner in a pump sprayer, use a large tray or similar underneath to catch the dripping.
How bad is it, im guessing its not caked in oil.
Maybe try optimum no rinse in the engine bay.

Wonder wipes. Obviously test on a small inconspicuous area first before you strip all the paint from the engine bay.

I've found the spray bottles of Elbow grease from places like home bargains works a treat and is very cheap!

But whatever you do you will make a mess of the floor so take newspaper/ a tray

Thanks. I think I would rather avoid getting anything wet in there so the wipes look good.

Just need to be careful I dont do any damage.
