I use a 12L Unger DI resin filter like this one:

There are some much cheaper DI filters available but I liked the ease of changing the resin bags in this one. Definitely one of my better detailing purchases!

That Unger Unit looks very convenient to use with the replaceable resin bags.

Does anyone have any experience of using resin water filters on a water supply that is ‘softened’ using a conventional salt based house water softening system.

The house system replaces the hard elements with far softer sodium.

Will a resin filter then remove that sodium ok to leave pure water?

Will a resin filter last longer on a water supply that is Pre-softened than on a hard water supply?

Thanks.

Dunno, but will be able to give you an idea in a couple of months time when I move into my new build, having a softener system installed for everything but drinking water. I've been using the Aquagleam for the last few years with good results, I only use it to rinse the car off and replace every couple of years, my car is daytona grey and no water marks.
