Nice. I do like the UTEs but having a Hilux already it would be a bit silly.

Both look clean, I'm not a fan of the Chevvy badges (just show them a Chevvy Matiz).

I do like the E2 style bonnet, and the rims though.

I don't like the bonnet vents - They are superfluos faff in my opinion!

I was looking at those exact wheels but in bright sliver. They clear bigger brakes as well apparently. But his rub and they are slightly rolled gaurds as well. Reminiscient of M3 E46 wheels though. If they did them in 19s I would prob get them if they clear the HSV brakes (a future mod).

His looked like it had been washed with bti of sand paper! Lol! I had just hit mine with my buffer. So it had hardly a single swirl.

Ute would be no good for me either, I will need four seats/doors come March....

Sounded awesome and went like stink though!

I'm used to sticking stuff to my bonnet. I've even had a spoiler on the front of a car! hehe

I'm sure a set of HSV 20"s would be easy to get ahold of.

Can't tell from the pics. Mine is currently filthy. But then it's been raining hard the last few weeks.

Not down the shops it isn't.

It's actually quite a squeeze to get it and the Hilux into the garage.

No sadly not. Buy all the gear to reprogamme the radio yourself with lots of reading/time etc or pay someone to take apart your car and do it for a bit less (no appeal for me there either) or pay more and get a 5 second plug in cable to do it automatically - Easiest but most expensive.

I may just see if I use it at all first. Got the bits to make an AV in cable for a few bucks, going to link up my PSP and see if it works then maybe think about a Pi.
Did you do this in the end?

The kit seems to be $330 from JHP (as a one off plug in). A company in the states will do it for $120, but they'd want a group buy before shipping (they'll not ship for one person).

My local radio place said "About $250" to remove it.
I'm looking at VDO SatNav (about $400) too.

This is going to be expensive.

Bit it's already got an Alpine digi TV tuner & Alpine DVD player in the dash (where the ashtray is), all connected to the stock screen.

Nah - Not done it - Cannot be bothered to mess with learning all that stuff. Its over $400 but you get reimbursed $90 if you send back the module from JHP. there is a guy who will do it near Sydney for $200 but he takes out the stereo etc.

If we could organise a group buy from the States how many units would it take? If it worked out I would be happy to split the minimum with you, buy more than one and sell them on? Depends what the minimum is? And hope they definitely work on Aus cars!

I read they preload your settings requested via VIN, and then you can do the cars.

What they said ref numbers :-
The only caveat would be I guess if you were able to get a relatively large group together we might consider it. Would be a way to hedge our bets against the loader getting lost or damaged in transit.

I'm not sure how many that would be.

I even looked here :-
http://www.carmodder.com/view_doc.php?doc_id=62&am...

Please Note : It has also been confirmed that it is possible to enable or disable the following functions,
e. Vehicle In Motion (VIM) function, which allows displaying the Composite Auxiliary Input on the main screen, when the vehicle is moving,
f. Reverse Camera function, which allows the composite auxiliary input to be used for reverse cameras.
The EEPROM locations for these functions are currently not publicly known, and will require someone with these functions enabled to submit their EEPROM for analysis to obtain these locations.

Yeah I have read all of that pretty extensively. Its a load more time to invest to work it out and you could damage your radio and it would take ages of having it out of the car on a bench with a laptop and 3M clip and EEPROM reader and lots of trawling the web to look forscraps of info on where this stupid VIM hex location is. I don't know anything about hex, it doesn't look hard but I just don't have the time.

If I get desperate i'll just pay the cash but at the moment I would rather spend it on the sound track from the 8 cylinders and a bit more power.

If there is a more inexpensive way I am interested though! I have not yet used the video in much and I cannot really imagine I will to be frank!

Had a few replies, and it looks like $200 is the cheapest, and requires shipping.

My local audio place for $250 seems reasonable then frown

Think I'll look at the VDO sat nav first though.

The VDO uses the stock buttons (and has a remote) and is now $400.

If I do it, I'll let you know how I get on.

Ok think I will take the plunge on a VCM OTR Intake this weekend retaining the MAF. Looks like it can be bolted straight on without tune so I will go for that as I fully intend to atleast catback it and then I'll probably use the OzTrack remote tune module.

Just got to do it in stealth so the missus doesn't get TOO upset! Ha!

"I think the air filter needs a change."
"Bloody hell Holden are expensive."
"I'll have a look at after market parts."
"Wow, cheaper AND longer lasting too."

etc ..

We are having a kid in March - I'll buy a pram and she won't even notice the intake.

Plus she agreed that the intake on the little mx-5 was well worth it...so it stands to reason the same should be true of the Holden!

I'm disappointed my thread in Monaros and hHSV got no responses for fun mods. Oh well!

Yeah, I posted a pair of threads about the new GenF and got nothing.
