Agreed, it's lovely. Why couldn't you stomach the 98RON part?
I'm spoilt by being able to run our current daily drivers on 91 (2 Commodores). I do 600km a week, so I would notice the difference.

I don't like having to put 95 in the turbo Cruzes we've had (they get an occasional tank of 91 during the winter biggrin ).

(also I'm Scottish, so I'm genetically programmed to pay as little as possible for everything wink )

I was browsing Carsales for large wagons and come across this. I didn't know they did them in R spec. It has a certain appeal, however I suspect I'd live in fear of a major repair bill and couldn't stomach the 98 RON only part.

Hmmm, bit older than I'm looking for, but cheap, 7 seats, AWD, proper R-spec, and those seats smile According to the Carsales tech data, its also close on 300kg lighter than the V70 that replaced it. Hmmmm.....

Anyway, back to the dreaming - if I had this, I would drive it every day...

Whats going on with the centre console between the seats? Looks like it's bee scratched up all over.

Doesnt the Volvo AWD system have a dubious reputation for expensive issues?

I believe so. Friends of ours bought a 2nd hand XC70 which was delayed in getting to them because it ate part of the drivetrain on the way back to the dealer from its RWC.

After they got it it spent a fair bit of time off the road before being replaced by an M Class.

With so many dreary grey German, Swedish and JLR cars around in the area I live, this would be a jaunty two-fingered salute...

The problem I have with those is the way they look - It really is the automotive equivalent of a beer swilling bogan in a BinTang singlet. If they allowed buyers to "downgrade" the bonnet, bumper and wheels I'd have bought one ages ago.

I did try and find a Bogan wearing a BinTang singlet to illustrate my point but this is all I came up with:

Oh look.... he drives a Commodore!

Agreed, esp the bonnet, but can't be that tricky to change - its still a VE under the, er, whole front bit. Unless there are HSV-specific bits that get in the way. But then it wouldn't be the salute that it is...

I have a series one, with no DRLs or bonnet vents.

I really want the bonnet, the bumper I don't like. You can't easily have one without the other.

Off to dig out my Bintang wife beater.

Incredibly alluring for $70k. Much want.

How English does that street look! Where is it?
That ones an import so I'm thinking Surrey laugh

The 911 is so familiar, so vanilla now that I think people see it and just think 'meh' but I just think it would be such an epic drive, so we'll engineered and just so damn good with less chance of bankrupting you than other super sports cars it makes for a perfect daily, especially with a decent auto box.

I cant decide if that is helpful or not.

i defiantly have un-finished business with a 911. i've only had a short drive in 1 (8 laps off a short track) and these is something that i still am yet to understand about the dynamics of the things. very interesting. i feel i need to own at least 1 (possibly a few) over my time on this mortal coil to fully understand that.

they dont need to be the quickest ones out there, hell even a base 996 will probably give 90% of the dynamics and that is the part that i need, to be able to scratch that itch off the list. A fezza is also on the list......

a very interesting conundrum.
