Maserati 4200/Spyder. Look good value at $40-$60k.

Less issues than the 3200GT. Only sticking point appears to the the clutch.

Will it bankrupt me though?

Was dreaming of a Gransport abut a year ago and the clutch is THE issue. Dealer charge here in Sydney was $5000. Worth checking the stated % wear is how much is left rather than how much is worn - some sellers are misleading with this.

Also, check the car thoroughly if it's a UK import then double check everything - I saw one car that had had a new speedo and thus the mileage was no where near what was advertised. I only found this out by going through every piece of paper in the sellers history file.

Gransports do looks the part. I was so close, but the Ex didn't like the styling. So the Holden was bought instead.

The Gransport looks ace. Just so right.

Clutch life is apparently 25-30k kms and $5k - a lot every 2 yrs.

Keep reversing up hills and its much much shorter by all accounts.

Thing is what else is there for $50-60k? M6, 911, M3?

Thanks for the input guys.

Very tempting, but perhaps telling that none of you committed in the end.

I could accept the clutch being a known quantity, but it's very unlikely that it will ever throw a small bill. Especially here in Oz. Bigger balls required.

Maybe hold out to see what the other companies do for a Mustang rival?

Challenger, Charger, Camaro

Depends where you look - Some claim it's not been confirmed yet but could easily be produced.

Another to give you a laugh: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/BMW-M5-...

List price was $238,000

Do people actually pay these sorts of figures?

Meanwhile, over in the bargain barges thread there will be similar UK based cars for less than half that.

What do you think is a realistic selling price for it? I have no idea what a nice 5 Series would set you back over here yet I keep looking at them on the road and wishing I had one.

Given a regular 2003 E39 530 Sport would be no more than $10k surely that one as an import is no more than $15k tops on a very good day.

Possibly an interesting way to use $80k on a daily - from my point of view, plenty of room for all the kids, and a great colour combo...

Even has a built-in booster seat by the looks of it biggrin

And who wouldn't want a car with a drinks cabinet...

Its being sold by a home-based trader a few streets from me - he often has a few interesting cars outside.

There are similar cars on Carsales for less than half the price of that one. Which would lead me to believe it is rather overpriced.

How about this one in Qld? A Bentley for less than the price of a new Mazda 3. Missing the service books, but surely nothing too bad could go wrong?

I'm going to the Sunshine Coast on holiday in a coupe of weeks. I wonder if SWMBO would agree to flying up and driving back?
