Well, having picked up a BMW E91 chassis 323I the other month i have been thinking, this is great as a daily, if only.....if was a 335 with the 3 liter turbo six in it.

so i be looking at one of those in a LCI version, say 2010 BMW 335i tourning (E91) with a manual, as if one of thoes will ever show up

so i look on the current BMW web site, hmmm, no 335 in the F31 chassis that they are selling, strange, its available overseas.

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b...

something like that, is cheaper in the uk that the boring 320 version hear and as its not a model imported i'm wondering if you could bring it in as a private import......

Daily dreaming is a great hobby of mine!

I've been in Aus almost 2 years and until Dec everything went to building a house. It's now time to play with some toys.

I brought an E46 M3 in which I'm going to sell when I can be bothered so I can fund the next stage. Managed to sneak a new GSXR thou in late last year to keep my sanity biggrin
I still have the option to bring another toy into the country via my wife. I own another E46 M3 at home(Scotland) that was to come and be a keeper as its low miles and vgc. However the long term goal is a Ferrari 430 or maybe even a Gallardo which might be better value for money here.

Latest plan is sell the other M at home and bring in a 997 turbo to boost the long term 430 pot.

Or I might knob that off and get a GTR, or a mk2 FRS, or now looking at VF commodores and superchargers. aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh.

And all the time I'm reminded how crap the roads are and how mental the police are. I just cant decide whats worth it and what isn't.

Anyone want an M3? I'd do the lowest priced one in Aus likely if I got an easy sale. I hate selling stuff.

EDIT I almost forgot my sierra cosworth. I really want to bring it here (Adelaide) but am a bit put off with the hoops to jump through. It's a standard enough looking car bar wheels but it's also 450 bhp. Apparently I need side intrusion bars FFS. It's about to get a massive resto in the UK even though its good nick. But if I bring it here and get hassle I'll be proper F'd off.

Short story is I have too many options and not enough decisiveness cry

The alfa is not a bad looking car bu I cannot even remotely get excited by them frown

The BM is cool but quite a big old beast. Even as much as I love M5's I'll prefer to stick to the lil old 3 series biggrin

Looking at the article on PH today it struck me that a Alfa V6 GTV could be a good buy over here. Anything from about 7k to 14k here. I always liked the look of them and as a second car for a little while would be quite fun but I reckon I would get fed up with the FWD. Still, at that price I think I would go try one. That's MX-5 money.

Special price for PH'ers smile

I now have two boats, two jetskis, three cars, one motorbike and one wife who's geniunely cottoned onto the fact I'm spending around $1,500 - $2,000 a month to keep the whole show on the road.

That said I do rather fancy that Morgan Aero.... Don't need to drive it fast you see..

I've currently got the following saved in my carsales searches.
2005 E46 M3 - absolute mint with 33k klms but wants $50k which seems at least 10k too much???
2006 E46 M3 CSL - seriously want one of these but I think it's 20k overpriced at $100k????
1999 Subaru wrx sti TypeR - a mint one owner 29K klms but $43k eek!
1970 Mustang with indie IFS and coil over rears - just lovely but $100k
2004 996 TurboS - think these are undervalued and rare beasts but at $139k it's still a st load of $$$
2003 996 GT3 - mint and OK ish price at $110k but probably a bit too hardcore for me these days
Datsun 240z road/race car up at $27k - love this one
360 Challenge Stradale - at $270k this is defo just a dream car but would be my ultimate drive
Maserati Gransport - a one owner, minter at what seems a very reasonable $77k drive away from a main dealer with 12 month warranty. Did I mention it has an F430 engine smile If my Mondial sale hadn't fallen through this would be in the gaage now frown

So not been dreaming much then....... biggrin

If an E46 is really on your radar then I have a Nov 2001 car, steel grey, fully loaded, black leather with 74k miles.

I'll sell it here for 25 k if anyone wants it. Purely to fund another car import. All it needs is a wheel refurb.

CSLs aren't cheap eh! But the UK price is rising and quite quickly.

The GT3 almost sounds affordable at that price. Considering I was looking at GTRs for around that I think the porker would be worth a look!

I keep looking at 348ts .. I prefer the looks over the 355/360 .. but there are a few 360s at the same price and I know that the 360 is so much a better car.

There is even a cheaper Tesstarossa on there (LHD).

Probably unpredictably, I quite fancy that too. Would be good to waft around in, with three kids seats across the back, a Mountain Buggy in the boot (would it fit...??) and a bike rack on the roof. It did get me looking at what V12 you can get for what money, and there are a few Jags, BMWs and Mercs around for what might at first appear to be not silly money. I suspect I'd struggle to pay for a filter/oil/plugs service, but would be fun while it lasted.

V12 Jag/Daiimler thoughts, thanks, just what I need.

I used to regularly drive my housemates XJ40, six. Loved it. And would love one.

Those pics reminded me, XJ40 smoked rear lights, really? Whoever thought that smoked rear lights on a new Jag would work? And yet they do, perfectly. And still.
