What's interesting (or slightly disturbing) is I too have looked at the Moke, the Datsun 240Z and a couple of the Mercs mentioned earlier.

It's like an addiction isnt it?

I keep looking at 348ts .. I prefer the looks over the 355/360 .. but there are a few 360s at the same price and I know that the 360 is so much a better car.
Ive always thought, if i could afford a Fezza, id buy a Lambo.
have looked on car sales every know and then, and wondered do they reach a point where they start to go up in value?

That NSX is lovely. They are about 1.5 times worth what they were about 2 years ago. There is a large number of people looking to buy them though which is always going to push that number through the roof.

All of my hero cars that were even remotely within reason at home in the UK are just beyond what I can spend here. Sadly.

I'd only be looking at VW Lambo's I recon, and they are still quite pricey.

I also think, the Ferrari would have probably been treated better for some reason.

If I had one I'd be more cruising and giving it the occasional beans, a Lambo I'd be thrashing it out the driveway.

I was so close to buying one when replacing my MR2 ..

Midnight purple, manual, Targa, 3.2 engine, had popup headlights. But the Cat C and the dealer was giving me the run around. It went to Ireland, lost it's history and came back at twice the price.

I ended up with an S2000 instead. It's defo the 'one that got away'.

Can't be imported from Japan unless personal import...

That one's really cheap regardless though. It was sold in 09 in an auction house needing work for 42k, looks far nicer now from pics. If I had the $$....

They're on the way up again..

Today I did 2 things I shouldn't have done.

1) put "HZ", no $ limit and a 2000km search radius into ebay (because I really want a ute).

This is in there - much want, it is even the right colour smile

But this also caught my eye. Not a ute, and probably a bugger to get parts for given there must only be a handful in Aus, but I've liked these since I was little because a bloke one street away from us had one in the same colour and I always thought it was awesome.

2) I went looking at older Mercs again, and these 2 are only a 5 minute walk from work. They've been on sale for ages, and have just dropped in price, so I suspect they have issues. Might go and have a look next week, if I decide I don't want a ute and need another old Merc (and a divorce).

Not sure about the wheels on the W210, but they can be changed easily enough.

Love the Monza.

Ok, a revisit, possibly forced, of a regular daily dreaming.

This beauty, looking a bit more faded and shabby than in this pic (thanks Bob).

There are some leaks likely from the head/s, so I'm thinking get these done, serviced and ported. A Y-pipe and US spec ecu should net me around 240bhp according to the v6 mr2 people.

I've already got a stty backbox, a stty 'Camry' flash for the back to replace 'Vienta', rid it of v6 badges, find a 2.2 badge, some stty wheel trims, fresh box of tissues on the back shelf, maybe some religious crap to hang from the mirror.

Light sleeper's a goodun.

Can't see how 240bhp through the front wheels of a Camry will be too much fun. And still won't be as cool or as fun as either the V12 Daimler or the Moke...

There is a TRD Supercharger kit for that engine which is where the fun starts.

I too want an NSX, so bad.

Would have been depreciation free motoring - or a large profit if I'd bought it over from the UK!
Now a supercharged one sounds like a lot of fun. So true Jon, you could could run one without any loss hey.

Now, I've never though much of them but recently the pang to get something manual, enjoyable, grunty and usable as a daily has led me to this (Track version with Brembos and post 07 with 313bhp):

Reckon $25k would get one sorted.

Gonna be another year or so as picking this up for the missus on Saturday...

Seems a bigger car for the sprog and pram is more important laugh

Procrastination is my middle name, shocking I know. The porsche is going to be a few (single digit) months off according to my plans, but should super-Camry my arse up there and enjoy a bloody bit of food with you people, been too long sir.

Getting back on topic of daydreams, latest sensible daily, and inkeeping with my constant sleeper desire, a Mazda 6 MPS, with a view to 300-400bhp, custom hidden exhaust, normal rear bumper, etc... Ticks a lot of boxes, but unable to justify due to Camry love...

Kinda. I've read they're not that good, minimal gain for the expense when there's so much easily available, and then you've got issues with engineering, which would likely be impossible.

Or even if you bought one here. Amazing the car parallels of us lot. NSX is a big love for me too.

If you're doing any garage tinerking at some stage and want someone to throw tools at/drink beer with give me a yell.

Procrastination is awesome. I plan on getting around to doing some of it later this week.

In keeping with sleeper Camry themes, the MPS is a good call, but how about a TRD Aurion?
