We get it. You are in the 5% outlier that doesn't live near a major centre.
That doesn't mean everyone is in the same situation. Besides - who takes their car to a dealer to get it serviced? Trained monkeys would do a better job for less money.
I buy a car and then don't step foot in a dealer again until I buy a new one.

There was a 2007 Audi RS4 convertible on carsales recently for a staggeringly good $45k, it lasted less than a week. An M3 convertible of the same year would've been more than twice the price.
My current fav 4 str convertible is the Maser Grancabrio bur sadly prices have yet to dip below $200k My cunning plan is to wait until the Mondial has increased to the point where the Maser has dropped - might never happen!

Mind if I ask why? I'm working on a project about this sort of thing. When you change do you remain loyal to the same brand, or do you change, and potentially find a new specialist for servicing?

Change brands every time. When you change do you remain loyal to the same brand, or do you change, and potentially find a new specialist for servicing?
Use the same mechanic for all cars. European specialist.

There is a special customer segment for people like you - and there are actually quite a lot of people in it. Which tells you a lot about main dealers I think

Thanks. You do realise you're a dealer's worst nightmare don't you? Buy a car and then disappear completely so they don't make any money from servicing

Basically, yeah There is a special customer segment for people like you - and there are actually quite a lot of people in it. Which tells you a lot about main dealers I think
I wouldn't mind paying the extra for dealer servicing if I could actually trust them to do a decent job. As it stands I trust my mechanic, so I continue to go to him.
