That funny looking green thing should be a welcome addition to the Coffs scenery. Hope it all goes well for you.

My son will be coming hone in January. He has just resigned, after 11 years in the navy. I think the change to civy street will for him, be almost as large as yours.

It meant the big TR8 will be back for me to improve the local scenery too.

I'm jealous! I skydived from 20,000ft above Coffs Harbour!

East Coast is majestic, especially the smaller towns like Coffs etc.

I've arrived, well a day or so in. Lacking the WiFi. Need to seek out a good phone contract, but still alive.

I've seen the Sky Diving leaflets, tempting me in. My Mum did her first one just the other week for her 60th.

Welcome
Nice weather, a bit windy though, plus a few good storms on their way.
Get yourself settled in and we'll pop up to Coffs for a drive to meet you. Mor if you want to come to Port let us know.

Ps Optus have some good offers. Also for SIM only I've just used VAYA and seems very good.

We've now both got phones. The bank cards haven't yet turned up...but we still have money! Spent today getting setup. The above for mentioned phones and banks (mostly set up in the UK).
Also doing a rough scout of possible rental locations. Seeing how the area's look in the 'flesh'.

I believe our container has shipped due to a request for the closing balance. 6 weeks and the Caterham will arrive. I've then got to get that and two pallets home from the docks. Still working on that one.

He's going to miss Goodwood Revival though, and the rain, and his Mum, and trying to keep up with my VX !

What are your impressions so far?

How was Christmas away from family, that can be hard.

Impressions are good. Still without work, but this time of year isn't great for it. Will sort that soon.

Have bought two kayaks to keep us entertained!

The girlfriend Skyped her family for over 3 hours yesterday as they opened their presents on the UK morning.

Our container is held up in Brisbane customs. But we've had many cards through the post and a 28kg box sent out which extras we missed upon packing arrive safe and sound.

Crimbo seems okay for me. Went out for a meal yesterday and then a swim in the afternoon. Going to skype my family again now the extended family are over, but that's simple. A Skype camera for the TV makes sitting on the sofa even easier!

Did you have a good Christmas?

Welcome to Australia GBM!

We moved to Perth back in July and haven't regretted a minute of it, in fact only regret was not doing it earlier!

I took up the advice of buying a 4X4 seeing as almost everything else here in WA is and got a Toyota FJ Cruiser and absolutely love it! Re-kindled my love of off road drivinf (I used to have a Defender 90 in the UK) and it's also great for carrying the kayaks around that we bought recently, spent a very pleasant day up on the Moore River a few days ago.

Good luck with the job front, no doubt something will come along.

Had a 90 also in the UK. Running an X Trail currently, but I could see an upgrade to kick the off raiding habit into touch. Many 110's, a few 130's, but a lack of 90's around and about over East.

Parents and friends back in Petersfield, heading back in a few years for a wedding, but no regrets of leaving the South Coast. You?

Currently in Brisbane for New Years celebrations. Happy New Year all.

Same here mate, apart from some good PH friends on the South Coast, no regrets leaving the area at all.

It's great to be able to spend so much time outdoors and see some different scenery!

The container arrived to us today. Just finished unpacking the boxes. The 7 had to be jump started, but all seems well. Good to get some belongings around you.
