I'm only in it for the booze anyhow.
I'm half leaning towards the Denman Hotel option right now. More time for drinking.

Not sure if these can be accommodated but I've always wanted to drive the putty road and the 33 between Singleton and Calga is bloody brilliant with a cracking stop in Woolombi to break it up.

I'm not a big fan of the Bells Line as I've been done too many times on that road and I'm a definite no for dirt I'm afraid - such a wuss!

500k a day ok but I'm definitely a quality over quantity man these days smile

Think of Bells as a transport stage. But yeah. It's ok but we need to do it for Bylong Valley Way. Which is the Wollombi rd turned up to 11 by all accounts.

Looks like stop at Denman and then back down Putty road is leading the charge at the moment.

Fantastic bit of road, & still fun at legal speeds.

However do take care if traveling it on a winters morning. The heavily shaded bits can still be icy with frost until well after 9,00 AM. After 40 years in Queensland, I had forgotten how late frost can last & had given myself a couple of heart in mouth moments my last time through, before I remembered to look for the heavier shaded corners.

Wish I was coming with you.

Oh yeah. Had a few jobs out around Oberon and winter can be an interesting time.

Seen as the poms are scared of a decent drive we can leave a bit later which makes me happier for the reasons you detail

I just ran a tank of fuel out, 40 litre tank but although I ran it as dry as I dared I only got 30 litres in, that lasted just under 200 kilometres of urban driving at a steady pace.

I'm now a tad concerned about having enough petrol stations en-route! eek

Can we get a roll call for this? Also, shall we all be responsible for booking our own accommodation in Denman?

I've got the car in for a service on 1st April, needs a shock rebuild which will take a couple of weeks but should have it back in plenty of time.

I'm quite excited by this run out as it's been far too long since I've had a decent drive. Less so since I had a decent drink! biggrin

ETA: Re accommodation I think we should put our heads together, decide on a place or close-by places and make our own arrangements from there.

I think Denman goes without saying, it's just a case of 'who's in?'.

I've started the list, add names or don't.

^^^ that's a joke btw.

Noble as that is mate, I don't think you need to do that. Let's sort our own accomodation, folk should book and be done, we just need a base.

Add BMW 335i driving, non PH member John to the list. Handy to have a lawyer given the likelihood of Mr Bot getting us into trouble somwhere over the weekend!

No accomodation left in Denman, we probably need a new overnight spot?????

This shouldn't be on page 2.

Also I've sold the mighty Vienta so I'll have to bring one of the other cars. The Porsche gave me a tap on the shoulder the other day, so it looks like I'll be turbo taxiing.

We need to book rooms, I don't think we finalized location?
