Oft derided as a bit low rent but have to say the final Commodore with 414 bhp for $50k is immense value and dare i say, rather alluring.

I feel dirty.

Providing I can keep a 7-seater off the agenda, replacement for PB Family Truckster now at a shortlist of one...

Yes, I will.

Actually, I have already: I borrowed a manual V8 sedan a couple of weeks ago.

It sounds fantastic! And feels much quicker than the current car.

Much prefer the picture of the US version or at least the colour scheme....I am not a fan of the Black wheels, but change them to silver or chrome and it looks a lot better.

If the GTS-R comes out, I could be temped. 470kW rumoured.

Standard clubby with 540bhp.

I know it's not got a great rep buthat's a very very desirable level of power for the cash.

Apparently the LS3 will be back next year, so there may be a budget range out.

Probably to get rid of any left over cars once they stop production.

430kw is still the top for the moment. Would rather drop an LSA into mine at the moment. I'm not taken my the VF or the VF-II looks. But the interior would be a massive upgrade over mine.

Well, as the Volvo's decided its chocolate drivetrain has a reputation to live down to, the idea of trading in for a new VF is getting more and more appealing. The idea of trading in for a new R8 Tourer is preferable, but strictly in the realm of fantasy at the mo. And, regardless of rep, 540bhp is a lot of fun!

Looked a bit harder at this today, went for a quick spin and sounded out my local dealer. Certainly feels swifter than the 260kW version I had a few months ago, and really does sound great. Basically the Series 2 V8 wagons seem to be going for asking price or close to it at the mo. No real interest in a cash negotiation, and their finance works out at around 15%, so no point in that either. I'll have another look in the new year.
