Don't we have reasonable 'lemon laws' now?

My understanding is we don't have 'Lemon laws' such as the US, but more generic consumer laws which aim to address the issue of 'lemon cars'.

The issue I have is that I cannot find any experiences of people in similar situations, so I don't know if I'm being unreasonable asking for a refund - despite the defect being present for so long and the law appearing to be on my side.

It's so hard to establish this as it can only 'really' be established in court, and there are no cases that I can find such as mine to gauge my likely success.

I'll keep you guys posted just in case you find yourself in a situation such as mine.
