You guys helped me out last time, so I'm back for some more advice.

I need a second car, primarily for the wife. Requirements are 5 door, ideally hatch and something newish and safe.

Probably end up with either a Focus or Mazda 3, although I would prefer something 'interesting' for when I get to drive it. Something like an Impreza or Jeep Compass.

Any suggestions? Budget is flexible, but around $10k would be good.

GF is selling her Mazda 3 for about that.

Doubt you'll get something exciting for that price that doesn't have issues.

Swift Sport is out as her mother had one. Not cool! Probably need the next size up really anyway.

Will probably end up with a Focus Zetec.

Not sure what will happen if I put a Holden and Ford in the same garage though!
