I cant yet vote in Australia and to be honest I'm not looking forward to the prospect of being confronted with a 3 foot wide strip of paper where I have to put numbers in boxes above and below the line (I've seen the TV ads).

Why does voting here seem so needlessly complicated? what's wrong with putting an X in a box?

Surely there must be a large proportion of society who wont understand what to do?

Helpfully there are reps from each party who hand out "how to vote" guides.

I used one of them when I voted for the first time at the last election in Vic smile

I might try to work it out for myself this time. Or possibly not.

I'm trying to register online for the EU referendum at the moment - should be simpler smile

Just vote above the line.

I find it hard putting any number next to Labor, Green or Christian Democrats though. Bunch of weirdos.
