I'm based in Sydney and would be up for a few drinks some time with some fellow Pistonheads.

I've been on a few of those Meetups myself and I agree with "Lardydah" that they feel a bit contrived. I find that some of the people in them seem a bit clicky or the groups are too large to get to know people properly. Having said all that though, they are a good way to get you out of the house when you're new to a city and I've met a couple of good friends from one of the groups that I went to.
where abouts in sydney?

Do you work CBD or such and yes I would be up of a PH beer drinks...

Just meeting up with an old PHer in Sing that I originally I meet 9 years ago when we used to do the dirty dicks pub crawl... Holy crap its a long time.
I work out near to the airport but I live in Chippendale. How about yourself?

Ok cool, we'll have to sort something out.

How are you finding Sydney then compared to Singapore?
Im in Barangaroo in one of the new builds over looking Darling Harbour...

Singapore = sweaty, but I enjoy it and have met up with a few PHer mates here.
Sydney = cooler, however outside of work not a lot going on.

Partner finally turned up on Sunday (Im still in Sing) so can't wait to get back.
Nice spot, if you like craft beers then Beer De Luxe has a good bottle list and is a nice place to chill on a sunny day, watching the world go by. There was a good friend chicken place from Melbourne that had a pop up in Barangaroo too but I think that it's closed now.
Belles chicken is a permanent takeaway/restaurant there, talked to the owner a few times, didnt realise he was quite famous and did a chef challenge on latest series of Masterchef.

The chicken or the mushrooms are beautiful.

I'm a southerner (Winchester) and I've been living in Sydney 4.5 years. Would be keen for a beer and car chat. Live in Bondi and work around CBD / North Syd.

You probably need my 'where to live' map, which serves admirably as a 'where to not live' map.

Apologies, slow reply!

I got a job offer I couldn't refuse and it was based from Sydney, though I could have also gone to Melbourne.

Chose Sydney in the end and we have decided to settle an hour and a bit north in the Central Coast area.

We left Perth on Tuesday (today is Sunday), drove to Adelaide, then Melbourne, where we are right now and we drive to Central Coast tomorrow, moving in to the new house on Tuesday. Hopefully our stuff arrives from Perth on Tuesday as well.

The road trip has been interesting, purely for the visual changes of WA, through SA, Vic and tomorrow NSW.

I work in the CBD (Circular Quay area) so anyone think of any good places there that don't mean you have to run straight from work to get a table, alternatively I can be persuaded to go elsewhere if anyone has any good watering hole recommendations?

Have a baby.

We knew very few people for the first year we were here, but 2 years after becoming parents we have a large circle of acquaintances.

This strategy may not suit everyone of course!
