Brisbane Student Accomodation

My step son has the opportunity to do a uni year abroad in Brisbane.
Have any PHers done the same or know of anybody who has?
The financial side of things seem OK other than the accommodation costs.
It looks to be at least double UK prices - can anybody offer any advice?

Unfortunately housing in Australia is not cheap.
Mind you, its even worse in New Zealand.

There are a few websites worth a look, easyroommate, flatmates, realestate and gumtree.

Hope it works out, Brisbane is an OK place to live.
I was there for 8 years.

Thanks for the suggestions. He's at the University of Queensland so very down town from what I can gather.
There seems to be a couple of specialist student let type companies. A modern 1 bed studio is working out at about £190 per week.
