I remember when this forum was quite active, now it's crickets 
Ordered a new Jimny for the Mrs P and should come around 2029 it appears. New ones will still be over list
. Yep gonna mod it but not off road.mod it...on road mod it whilst trying to avoid it looking like a G Wagen.
Car prices seems to be back to pre-covid levels in many quarters but noticed GTRs and 4Cs a little pricey.
Old Jap stuff is just crazy but good to see Skyline GTS 34s are back where they belong in the bin.
10-15 yr old Falcon and Commodores seem way too expensive for how agriculture they are.

I'm over for a visit in Melbourne at the moment, and the price of everyday things is a shock. Petrol is still cheaper than the UK at least, and the family cat remembers me after 6 years.
My old car is dead and getting it sorted out during the Easter break and school holidays is turning out to be a right PITA, but a mate has lent me his 911, so not all bad.

Yeah it's fine bonkers expensive. Commodore prices are ridiculous no matter how old they are!.
I’m still around, still on the NSW Central Coast and still have the VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg and the Rover P6B.
Continuing to travel a lot, out to Texas again next weekend for a week, then home for 2 days and then out to Singapore for the week.

I caught up with mate just before I left who was just back from spending the holidays in FNQ with his family, said it was very quiet up there, and everyone said the increased mortgage rates have hit holiday spending. Doesn't help when SE Asia is cheaper (or was, I've lost tabs of what the state of play is) than holidaying in Australia.911s not a bad loaner - which variant?
Cars, yes mental. Same mate had HZ Sandman he sent to auction during Covid, said he was going to be happy if it sold for 50k, but sold for 98k. Madness. It was this one

He still has a VE SS manual Ute as a run around, said it was about the same money as when it bought it - I've borrowed before, it's simple but fun, and sounds like a Nascar. The loaner was a 996 3.8 manual, which the original owner spec'd sport suspension, which really is too stiff when you get out onto country roads, where I drove for half of my trip. Had a drive of a new M3 Comp in Singapore on the way back, it was very fast, but didn't totally gel with the car.
For autumn I was lucky with the weather, only cold and wet for a few days of it, it was still shorts weather for most of it, though the woman of Melbourne had already broken out their scarfs and Artic Puffer Jackets! It wasn't that cold! I was BBQing most evenings as it was still warm after the sun had gone down. At least some things haven't changed, such as Aussie girls still love active wear, and my favourite butcher is still at South Melbourne Market and still sells great meat, even if beef is more expensive than the UK now.

Another Pom incoming. Daughter has lived in Melbourne for 10 years and me and the missus are moving over to join her post my early retirement. Actually looking to live in Geelong to help the money go a little further.
I’ve been a big American can fan for most of my life and have owned a couple of Mustangs and a 64 Buick Riviera over the last 10 years or so. Looking forward to getting in the classic and rodding scene over there. Expect lots of questions regarding where to source good cars and info on club rego and the like.

I still haven’t bought a VF2 V8 and am considering selling the VY Ute. I just don’t use it enough these days. At least being a V8 Holden it must be worth a small fortune now
I’m torn between selling the broken Merc and getting it fixed (so I am able to then not use it enough).
Or just buying something else, but the current list of things I want so I can stick them in the garage and not use them enough is long and constantly changing. I found myself looking at 944s on Carsales today…
There is also the small issue of needing the kitchen and both bathrooms renovated. Mind you, at least I use them

Still have the Boxster and C class. Almost 4 yours into a house build, and still going.
Looking at picking up an older Cayenne or a newer Macan once the house is sorted. Relegating the C class to a beater.
Would prefer a Taycan, but prices seem static.

Yeah I think you'd be taking it back with you when you return to the UK. If you did want to take a punt on doing something like that then maybe a TVR Tuscan or later or even something JDM or a 60's/70's US muscle car.
