Wow, this guys has needed a beer for months... :-)
I'm another expat.. living northern beaches Narabeen way ..
up for a beer (if it ever gets arranged)

PS.. ever been drag racing? this caught my eye...
Round 7 of the Top Fuel champs..
It's a dragster event [long cars, big engines] out near Eastern Creek on May 2nd - check it out...(if you have kids aged 9/10+ they'd enjoy and you may score points with the LPO (Leisure Prevention Officer ) (wife)

We are going to give it a try and poss sneak a session on the arrive and drive go karts {open late on fridays] to get in the mood...
Pretty sure they'll serve you a beer there too
Prob cheaper than Mosman with all the red-necks to cater for...

I'm just down the road from you, I'm in Manly. I noticed the Nitro champs at Western Sydney Internationl Dragway coming up in May and thought I might go along too.
I saw a video from a previous year and it looked impressive. I used to go to Santa Pod in the UK so it will be interesting to see how it compares to here.

And I'm in the middle of you lot in Dee Why between Manly and Narrabeen. Sounds like it's going to be a Northern Beaches gathering. Why don't we just meet up on Dee Why Beachfront, plenty of cool bars for food and drink and plenty of parking in the huge car park behind the SLSC. Can also bring some GTO mates along so we have some nice motors to look at.

Apols for not getting back to this post sooner - had a bit of a blip what with daughter being born, in-laws out here for a month, my family out here for another month and then work going mental. Needless to say, I could murder a pint.
