SPOTTED THREAD
Discussion
This morning, 7 quite late model Ferraris, on Muldoolun road heading for Jimboomba, in the wilds of SE Queensland. They were loosely grouped over a couple of kilometers, like a guided tour group.
At least 4 were being very badly driven by Asian gentleman. Are these things available for holiday hire? I got the impression that some of the drivers were not at home in the cars.

I assume it's the same guy that sometimes brings the Veyron in from time to time along with few others than can only be bought in for limited periods of time?
Would love to been up at Barbs that day
No idea who that is but could be! I have a feeling this car will be out and about, it was being used to well to never be seen again and from the pictures I have seen is in less than immaculate condition anyway from track use.Would love to been up at Barbs that day

The owner paid around 2.2 million for the car at the Pebble Beach Concourse and sent the car by air, The car was going to debut at the All Italian Day earlier this year but was held back by Dubai customs trying to say he was not allowed to 'Own' the car and Ferrari had to get out the problem
Steve was driving that day at the track and from what I have been told he is quite a good driver and is competing in the 458 challenge in China and finished second in his first outing
Also in his collection are a 458 road car and a Bentley GT
There is another big collector in WA somewhere I have been told they make money out of the Middle East oil and gold markets
But they collect old racecars and have a few ex Bathurst GTHOs old Group B rally monsters John Bowes Ralt RT4 that set the lap record at Barbs in the 80s and usually make one or two big buys at the cars auctions in Europe each year

I had heard tell that there is an ex-Michelle Mouton (sp?) Audi Quattro in Perth and that ties in with the chap you talk of so maybe it is true after all. I have also heard that the Ralt owner is keen to see it compete again but some silly rule on the log book or age of the car is holding it back..unless that is another car I am thinking of.
James
That is the same guy we are talking about
The Ralt is waiting for its historic log book and the owners have written proof from JB about the car and what it has done but the guy on the east coast who is doing it has some issues with the car
He was also on speedwest some time ago but has been banned by Rob for some reason

Cycling round the back of Mosman this morning, a bright red late-80s Aston Martin V8 trundles out in front of me. Looked and sounded spectacular - you don't see many around these parts, and I don't think I've ever seen one in what was a close approximation of Porsche Guards Red. Driving it was a middle-aged gent in full suit and tie - just nipping into the city for a spot of work, no doubt. Will make sure my phone is handier next time and get a pic.
By contrast, the bright red Commodore SS that went past me 5 mins later looked like it was missing a tutu...
