Just some bloke, got chatting, I apologised in advance for my cheek and asked if he'd be so kind as to run me up the road in it.

Very very fast as you'd expect and no discernible lag. Sounded amazing. A mate took a vid, I'll see if I can get it.

Bit of an oddity...

Its a Lotus Excel in Australia. Its green. Its on British plates. It is also in a hell of a mess, with blistered paint and a near ruined interior. Tax disc in the window was from 2009. And for some unfathomable reason, I want it. Way to far gone for me to do anything with, but it just looked great, dumped on the side of the road in the middle of Brookie...

Parked up behind it was this one - similarly ruined inside and out...

And the white heap parked between the Lotus and the building is the shell of a Jensen Interceptor. All a bit odd - anyone know owt about it all???

One guy buys a paint-gun and a compressor!
Another guy buys a can of black paint and a can of orange paint!
Hatch a plan or plan a hatch, and paint it accordingly!

I believe the clear hasn't been done yet.
Guy 2, who bought the paint offered up his mighty Jelly-Bean-mobile as practice for Guy 1 and we think doubled its value.

Looks Grrrrrreat!

My old man had/has a Lotus Excel SE. Was on my drive for 4 years while he was in Aus, and I was in the UK.

In that time it slowly rotted. I couldn't do anything with it, as I couldn't even fit in it to drive it. Too tall, legs too long, feet too wide.

E301SON was last MOT'd on the 30th of March 2009. It passed (it had failed 2 days earlier). That ties up with the 2009 tax disc, must have been exported sometime that year.

The blue one's reg (IIL 3436?) doesn't come up on the MOT history website for some reason.

One of several parked along the roadside whilst their owners enjoyed a BBQ - Presumably some kind of Ferrari owners club evening out.

There was a joint Ferrari/Porsche meet on Australia day .. I believe they do a few combined events.

Didn't think much of them from the magazines when they first came out and then saw one in the flesh - oh my god, just stunning. The noise and so much presence.

Popped out to a local café for lunch today - this lot were taking up almost all the parking spaces. I reckon there was at least $8 million worth sitting about, not including all the R8s, a couple of C63 AMG, or any of the Porsches - so maybe closer to $9 million all up.

Not what I expected to see on Mount Macedon at lunchtime.

Ferraris first

One at the back in this shot was broken - was getting towed as we left
