sounds great.

the banks cars like type 62 are great looking me thinks, they also use more sorts engines, also V6 and even V8 I believe, but how many were made I don't know.
There is a banks car on sale but its the narrow version 47 or so, the yellow one.
i like the type 47, bit closer to a 46, not so wild. this is high on my list! I cant fit in a ginetta G12!

Beauty is in the eye and all that! Is there a universe in which this:-

is an improvement on this?

agree, not all is an improvement, most though is under the skin.
for me I would like it in another colour and a more classic style dash, so the alu/rvs sheet style out.
I like the black interior, not so a fan of the light/creme colour.

I like a bit of both but have often wondered if a Europa's interior would cope well with something along these lines, from a Gordon Keeble no less...

It would have to be all black for me... and dare I say it the above pic is giving me ideas on how to do the interior on my next '60s / '70s Mini.

In my opinion one of the best looking sportscars ever built. It was almost impossible to find a decent one 30 years ago so I bought an Esprit instead - can't imagine how hard it is to find a decent Europa TC today!

I guess nowadays a lot are restored and or new chassis etc.
I love them also, I never forgot the time I saw a purple Lotus Europa type 74 for the first time when I came out of school (just a kid) on my bike biggrin
and wondered how the car looked, out of the normal world and low and that colour etc, good times.

special BDR engine with 185hp>

Searching for Europas, as you do, I found one of my old ones for sale.

This was my second one.
Here is a picture from when I viewed and bought it at the previous owners house.

Subsequently sold to a Lotus enthusiast at the Lotus show, Donington 2006.

Found it here whilst searching, it's had a bit of work during the new ownership;

I'm sure if I was back in the UK, I'd be going to view - but take off the rose tinted glasses, I don't really need one...

...do I? The dealer said he'll ship to New Zealand!

:-)
Interesting find, they've done a lot of work, the new fresh colour looks OK too, me thinks.
also great (I think) it now has a fresh (better?) spyder chassis.

all in all looks like a fine example...

shipping it too new Zealand etc will cost you some extra, is new Zealand import friendly when it comes to classics?

I bought me this Lotus Europa last week,

but sadly I would not fit in...

So I also bought another>

hm, can't fit in this one either ;-)

Rode shotgun in a very special one:

They are tiny cars!

Not sure they really suit the tracks:

that is indeed a very nice example of a Europa.

not suitable for track? what you mean by that :-)

maybe those wide body versions or type 62 or 47 racers? must be good enough I guess, I though I have read somewhere in those Europa books they were hard to beat in their class sometimes?
lightweight with mid engine, maybe even better then the elans? not sure though.

Chris Meek might disagree that they aren't suited to tracks!

Track: the ones I saw at Spa ran times like 3:15, which is on par with FIA App K MGB cars.

Update on the Yahoo Europa Group page, the 5th French Europa meeting photos.

I don't know if they're available for all to view if you're not signed in...
