Having been taken by the look of the 360 Cup, I took the plunge. 10 weeks later, I collected this from Lotus in Long Stratton. It is some bit of kit, a far cry from my S1 that I have enjoyed for the last 16 years!!

The whole process has been brilliant, I am very pleased with it!!

Looks great, enjoy! I just had a 2bular fitted to my V6, sounds amazing!

I can see trading up from an S1...

But I can't justify trading in a CUP260 for that though.

I am jealous though. Good on you!

Fabulous, many congratulations indeed. Loving the white with the 360 bits in contrast.

I have a V6 Cup (the hardcore one with the carbon seats/extinguisher/engine cuts offs/no radio etc) that has been amongst the best cars I have ever owned. Unfortunately up for sale in the New Year as I'm going back to the prancing horse before it is too late/I am no longer allowed (!) but if not she would definitely be a keeper.

PS Jodele, I have had a 260 Cup (which I loved) but the V6 Cup raises the game immensely. Very different, feels of course bigger and heavier but the way it delivers the power and the vast difference in the amount of torque moves it on an awful long way from the S2. Try one ..!

PPS Tin hat, have you got it armourfended? Essential before you put too many miles on that lovely nose.

Congratulations on your new car. I really like these and would have been tempted if I had got round to building my garage. It's a work of art. Your car...not my garage. Enjoy it...I hope you post up some ownership experience threads when you've run it in....and lots of pics.

Have not armourfended mine - the lines show significantly after a short period. That will be exacerbated on a white car as it yellows.

The paint is far better than in the S2 and S1 cars so stone chipping is less of an issue.

Had my pearl white v6 front end fully covered from new . Two years and 9000 miles later you have to get to within a foot to see the lines, all depends on the fitter. The older films certainly did yellow though.
Issue is cost of fitting vs a full front respray seems to be coming out the same , so not sure I'll both on my new one.

Congrats, it looks great.

My new Cup is the first car I've had the front-end paint protected. Many many planned track miles plus a pretty special colour meant I thought I'd take the plunge (previously I had the same concerns as you, but we shall see).

Looks lovely! Congratulations.

On the subject of Armourfend, I had it on my Elise and 2-Eleven up to 30,000 miles and 20,000 miles respectively (both cars bought secondhand with it fitted) and wouldn't fit it to a new car. You could see the lines clearly and I had several people say "eeww, what's that?" before picking at it with their fingernails! Car wax also gets stuck under the edges, you'll never achieve the same shine as bare paintwork, both my cars went hazy in the end and if it stone chips you get marks on it. Just my opinion though, plenty of people swear by it.

Exige is very nice indeed...and they are brilliant track cars.

Seriously considering one of these as i fail to see any downsides?

Outside of Caterhams etc, probably the quickest thing on a UK B Road, low cost and an excellent track toy

Are there any downsides to a 360 CUP? Every owner seems to rave about how quick and mechanically robust they are with very low running costs?

the new Sport 350 looks and seems a better car !

cannot see the point in the cup 360 and CR v6 now, the new car is cheaper and better !

In principle, all 3 variants are pretty much the same, they have a 350 ish HP V6 pushing about 1100 kilos. The Sport 350 is the newest of the 3 and has the latest chassis and interior tweaks, including a highly desirable exposed gear linkage. My 360 set me back a bit more than a Sport 350, but I haven't regretted my choice and I would do the same again-I am the kind of weirdo that would pay a premium to have 1 of 50 cars manufactured.

My 360 Cup is still being run in, but it is clearly going to be a very, very quick car, I expect it will give my C63 a run for its money in a straight line, the C63 wouldn't know what day of the week it was on the twisties.

It's hopefully promising news for Lotus, as their products continually generate supportive reviews . As a customer, It's great to buy a car that is made in the UK that really feels like it isn't a poor second choice to the usual sports car 'megabrands'

Someone can tell me if I have this wrong...the new 350 is a worthwhile amount lighter than the standard V6 car, but I cannot remember if it is lighter than a Cup (I think it is)...but the Cup is more aimed at track work and has a superior roll over bar, adjustable higher specification dampers, and a few other track related goodies.
The 350 on the other hand has a much improved gear linkage, part of which is exposed, and a host of minor improvements, which all add up to something, over the standard S car. The 350 certainly has been getting rave reviews.
