Is there a way of disabling the exhaust valve to keep the car in stealth mode...it's too loud for most tracks....

Not with the stock ECU.

It might be possible to fit an aftermarket 'override' switch but I suspect that most specialists wouldn't recommend running on track with the valve shut for extended periods.

Curious, what is the problem with keeping the valve closed?

"Exhaust Protection Valve (opens at 4700 rpm) designed to reduce the back pressure at high rpm, allowing the engine to safely generate full power."

Definitely do not do this, valved exhausts have much much higher back pressure in "stealth" mode to get through road homologation. Running it flat out on a track day valve closed will be massively stressing your engine.

You'll need to find a trackday friendly replacement muffler, lots of expansion and rockwool packing (not fibreglass it'll melt with a short Lotus exhaust).

Lotus are working on an official "motorsports" exhaust. I had expected it to debut with the 3-11... but nope.

I have a test drive of an Evora 400 at Silverstone on the 9th before the Goldtrack day on the 10th.

Should I be concerned about noise on track if I were to buy one?

I have a Cayman with a tuned Carerra engine and 200 cell cats which I've fitted with turn down tips to be able to avoid noise infringements at Goodwood on 105db days and don't need a noisier car.

Enjoy the test drive but, unfortunately, yes. The 400 static tests at approximately 108dB.

And the rest. I got tested at 110 at Snetterton, someone else got 111 at Rockingham.

I've never got as far as finding out what it was on drive-by. I suspect it may be 98, but annoyingly MSV have turned theirs down to 92 on a lot of days.

Yep, I got 98dB as a drive by at Zandvoort in August.

Thanks for the responses, I guess I'll just have to enjoy the test drive.
