[That's funny..... my mate who's 6'6" reckons his Elise is the most comfortable sports car he's ever owned. Sure they're hard to get into and out of, but other than that I reckon they're bang on.
I'm 6'6" or so and yes, it was mostly comfortable - as you say, a bit of a contortion to get in and out of but I think that applies to all heights. I did find the seats a painful fit though - the metal hip supports were not the right size for a gentleman of, err, my breadth of beam so I ended up pretty much with my hips resting ON those supports rather than BETWEEN them. Not fun driving Surrey-Inverness grumpy

Still have another one though cloud9

It is definitely a Lotus.
Take the number plate and use it to try and sell a car using ebay (dont worry you never get as far as paying for it but all the details for the car will be pre filled in).

According to ebay it is called a Lotus 2008 coupe colored blue and has 3458cc engine.
It was first registered on 01/02/08.

This is a good trick if you want some details about any car (this Lotus is not on the DVLA website btw).
Similarly, you can try getting a quote for it from insurers.

I'm 6'5" and I know of others who are 6'4" who simply cannot drive an Elise safely. The three I've driven (S1, S2111s and S2190) all have the same problem, if I wanted to dial in opposite lock quickly I couldn't because my knees were in the way. I would have loved one, but to design a car that doesn't offer some element of cockpit adjustability is silly given that it loses lotus sales. I'm amazed that those of you 6'6" didn't find that problem, as I don't have particularly long legs and was wearing pixie boots at the time. People shorter than me have complained about how low the steering wheel is and that it was the key thing that stopped them buying an Elise.

From the pictures, I'd say the designer of the Lotus is the same guy that designed the X-Bow and the complete range of shoe boxes for Clarks! biggrin

sit lower then, the wheel's just fine if you ask me, it makes it more sporty (can't find a better word), and having an adjustable wheel and do i dare say it, power seats in a lotus was out of the question then, not sure about what they think of it now in the eagle, lotus needs desperately to move quickly though, competitors are catching up...

Good trick, can't seem to make it work from Germany though.

There are 2 cars in the photos, 1 with blue wing mirrors & the otherwith black 1s - did you try both cars reg no's or just the blue wing mirrored 1?

NB the diff in reg no's is that last letter, 1s a V the other's a U

I really hope that Lotus nail this car and get it just right, as good as the europa is, it has been a sales flop for the company.

They're both on the DVLA site if you do an vehicle enquiry on the vehiclelicence.gov.uk page. One black, one blue, both registered 01/02/2008 and with a 3458cc engine and £185 per year tax rate. smile

i'm sure this was on the M11 or A11 early Monday morning when i was traveling to snetterton. It was going southbound (we were northbound), so really only caught a glimpse of the black and chequered roof.

I thought the 2+2 was coming later and the first ones were going to be strict 2 seaters.

The latest shots show the car relatively undisguised and featuring a diamond pattern on the roof and doors.
Looks to me that the pattern appears on all the genuine bodywork surfaces, whereas the matt surfaces are merely cover ups.

There aren't many of the former, so presumably it's a long way from being representative of the real shape.

Not a real looker, is it? I hope they straighten that out, together with the silly name....for gods sake: Eagle!
There must be women's names with an E. Esther, Edith, Enid, Estelle...or maybe guys names? Ernest, Esra,...anything but not this pseudo-American name....
