Thanks guys, you've convinced me to ditch the driving lights.
I'll have a think about the gold badge as I've seen gold badges with red highlights on quite a few older Maseratis, or maybe I'll just stop farting around and get the thing started.....
Oh if they are driving lights then keep them. But not if they are fog lights... I'll have a think about the gold badge as I've seen gold badges with red highlights on quite a few older Maseratis, or maybe I'll just stop farting around and get the thing started.....
I called in to see Paul yesterday and was asked my preference - definitely no fogs / driving lights in my opinion but I'm not sure about the badge?
It gets lost when its silver or chrome and the gold looks good...and as Paul suggests, it appears that this is the colour it should be - gold or gold with a red border? (I think)
We also thought that having the bonnet on with the chrome trim in place might make things look different again!
Either way, the car looks stunning in photos but absolutely amazing in the flesh - effortless style made all the better for the good job Paul has done restoring the car.
Next step - take a brave pill and fire up the V8!!!

Due to my inability to upload a video, you'll just have to take my word for it....
It lives..... It blooming lives..... Checked that fuel was getting through turned the key and after an initial splutter that wonderful 4.2 Quad-cam V8 burst into wonderful noisy life.
A happy day and big step forward

Despite the best efforts of Google and BT Broadband, I've been able to set up a YouTube account and here is the video, noisy as there is no exhaust and ticking over too fast as the accelerator cable was too tight, but jolly exciting:-
