I'm seriously considering going to look/buy something (that I'll keep to myself for now wink) - has anyone bought or looked round a WD car before?

I've watched dozens of their progs - some seem to be a cosmetic spruce up, others a more careful repair/restoration.

Would be interested to hear thoughts before I make a 400 mile round trip to 'ave a butchers'!

Do you get to see the programme before buying?
I would hate to know everything about a car that I have bought.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss :-)

I've seen a WD car advertised on classic and car website, came on a couple of days ago. Without giving too much away for you is it the silver French car you're interested in? If I had the money I'd certainly be interested!

As an aside, WD were meant to be going Stateside to buy cars. I saw the first episode, a Dodgy Challenger if I remember rightly. I haven't seen any other episodes advertised, repeated or listed. Was that the series?

Someone on www.205GTIdrivers.com bought the white 205GTI.

It wasn't well repaired and was a bit of a dog. It did the rounds a bit.

I'm afraid there are no secrets on the Internet.

That car looks fantastic in the ad. Re WD cars, you have to judge each car on its own merit.

I've yet to see them do anything on TV that I'd call a bodge though.

No TV company or their lawyers is going to let anything that looks even half like a bodge be shown as it is very good evidence that something wasn't done right.

I think Edd gets his mate Paul to do all the work and Edd claims he has done it.

I have been trying to locate it ever since because I wanted to buy it back. I found it earlier this week..

Sadly it is a category B write off due to fire damage and cannot go back on the road frown

Looks nice, although I think I prefer the 1987 one on car and classics for half the price...

I want/need a pre 1980 car to qualify for various events. In fact I'd be buying it specifically for the Monte...

I'd rather have a Fulvia for that kind of money.

Good, that means less competition wink

Seriously though, Fulvias are terrific cars but couldn't be any different from the A310.

Fulvia - front engined, front wheel drive revvy 4 pot
Alpine - rear engined, rear wheel drive V6
